At UMVA Muhazi, quality is never compromised. Sourcing locally and sustainably is key. UMVA Muhazi has its own greenhouse and kitchen garden onsite where the majority of vegetables and herbs are grown to ensure fresh and nutritious eco-conscious meals.

Food is at the heart of UMVA Muhazi. Each dish is crafted with fresh, locally-procured ingredients to create an inspired Rwandan gastronomy experience. Over delicious food, stories are shared as new friendships are forged.
MASTER CHEF
Head Chef Bachu has roots in the Eastern Province of Rwanda but draws culinary experience from around the world. His journey crafting food began many years ago at a hotel in Uganda and has since taken him to Rwanda, the Middle East, and back home again to Rwanda, where he hopes to inspire a local culinary scene. For Bachu, the secret to good food is passion.

"I could never get enough of UMVA. It is amazing. The rooms are too good. Relaxation is obvious in those rooms. The food is a delightful surprise and the Chef would easily get Michelin recognition. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the views of that lake Muhazi are to die for."
